Abstract


As a famous patriotic scientist, Qian Xuesen has experienced more in his legendary life. Owing to his rich experiences, he has got remarkable achievements. In 1935, Qian Xuesen went to the United States to learn advanced technology and had become a world-famous scientist. In 1955, he had broken through many blocks, which was coming from the U.S. authorities, so that he can return firmly to participate in Chinese socialist construction. Also in this year, Qian Xuesen had written‘the note about establishing national defense aerospace industry in China’, which was first in China. In 1970, under his charge, Chinese first artificial satellite had been launched successfully. Although Qian Xuesen had retired from the important position from the late 70s of the last century, he had been responsible for establishing modern science and technology system in China。Even in 2005 when he was ill in bed, Qian Xuesen had still concerned about Chinese education. All these things have shown Qian Xuesen’s deep love to the motherland. Based on collecting Qian Xuesen’s life stories, his spirit of patriotism has been concluded.Qian Xuesen’s experiences have reflected the progresses of Chinese intellectuals. In the time that the socialist core value system has been promoted, it is of the importance for Chinese intellectuals to take Qian Xuesen as the example in order to learn how to combining own progresses and loving motherland.This article can be divided into four parts. First, the existing researches on Qian Xuesen’s patriotism spirit have been sorted out. Second, Qian Xuesen’s patriotism spirit has been demonstrated from its formation, connotation and its relation to Qian Xuesen’s great achievements. Third, the relationship between Qian Xuesen’s patriotism spirit and the socialist core value system has been analyzed. Fourth, the inspiration of Qian Xuesen’s patriotism spirit to Chinese contemporary intellectuals has been revealed.
