Abstract


The higher education of China developed at a fast speed since our open and reform policy started in 1978, and the financial support from government was the main channel to maintain this development. But, the dependency on government invest has limited the fast growth of universities. Therefore, universities must work hard to gain more financial support from other resources.This study was carried out in order to exam the various financing channels of the universities in China. Both theory and examples were given in the explanation of the latest development of diversified financing channels for higher education. The quantitative analysis on this issue of X university was made and its successful experience was also compared with that of other overseas universities. The data was mainly from the Bursar’s report and the author’s own working experience in Bursar’s office. The impact of getting various financial supports on the higher education development was analyzed and the problems were identified. Finally, the suggestions on broaden the financial support was given in our market economy society.
