Abstract


With the development of Internet technology, Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) has aroused more and more extensive attention. For raising student’s independence thinking and innovation spirit, more and more people utilize multimedia and network technology to support education. E-learning system development has become a hot research spot and got series of significant achievements. Nevertheless, kinds of problems have emerged in this field. For example, there are many types of network teaching and curriculum resource management platform, presentations of course contents are too unitary, online teaching activities are deficient, the interact between teachers and students are insufficient and so on.This paper conducted thorough analysis and research on these problems such as the importance of interactive network teaching system, the online learning environment establishment and the appraisal and monitoring of students’learning process. Based on the Social Constructivism Instruction theory, an online CAI system for Computer Graphics education was developed, by using PHP, Moodle, SCORM, and Virtual reality. With the utilization of SN (Sequence and Navigation) characteristics in SCORM 2004, an economic and practical network platform construction plan which is suitable for school educations, was demonstrated by revising the open source code and second development of Moodle. Several 2D/3D graphics algorithms demos were implemented, by using virtual reality technology such as VRML, X3D, and OpenGL. It could support students’understanding about the computer graphics’algorithm.
