Yang Xianjiang (1895 ~ 1931) is the early Marxist education theorist, and youth movement leader. He combined Marxist education with the specific reality of China by using materialist dialectics. During the practice of communicating with young people, giving them guidance and leading student movement, he formed his own characteristic educational theory–“Life—Long guidance”.“Life—Long guidance”is about young people’s life-long education, lateral aspects involving all fields of young people, such as life, spiritual, health, education, career, marriage, social activities, while vertical throughout the whole life. The ultimate goal is to mold young people into healthy development of the“perfect”in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, labor and other respects.“Life—Long guidance”close to the daily lives and learning of the teenagers, has a strong reality to their thoughts and health. And today after 80 years later, it still has a great guidance to the education of the youth. This article will associate the theory with the main problems which contemporary teenagers are facing today, analyzing the roles it plays and the inspiration we get under the new conditions of the times.The first part briefly introduces the process of the production and the content of“Life—Long guidance”.“Life—Long guidance”involves the questions which the youth face as a result of the age characteristic. Under that background, Yang Xianjiang endowes this theory’time characteristic with more patriotic enthusiasm and revolutionary thought, that is, overthrowing the imperialism, the feudal warlord, saving the nation and rescuing the people. But the education principles and the education ideas it contains have a big inspiration to our today’s education.Under the present era condition, the second part elaborates the subject matter which the young people meet and also mainly manifests in such aspects as life, study, thought, health. Mainly as follows: values of pluralism, moral decline, individual consciousness, learning and academic pressure, practical ability, social adjustment is not strong, spiritual and cultural lack of Internet addictionThe third part analyzes the function of“Life—Long guidance”which may produce to young people’s in each aspect today, the enlightenment which the education principles, education methods bring us. This article summarizes, analyzes, and induces the opinions and ideas which Yang Xianjiang gives the young people in various aspects and finally forms the system. It is expected to show the education significance of this theory system to the young people today.
