Abstract

In this study, we analyzed the floristic elements and geographic distribution characteristics of rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants in Qinghai province based on the flora of China and Qinghai data and information from published literatures and various levels and the specimen records. Further we discussed rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants were protected in the nature reserve by collecting part of the inspection report or investigation collection of nature reserve in Qinghai province and the specimen records. Through the above study, following these results:1. Floristic characteristics of rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants:(1)The results indicated that there are 146 species of rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants, belonging to 36 families and 77 genera. Gymnosperms including 3 families,6 genera and 19 species, Angiosperms including 33 families,71 genera and 127 species. (2) Geographical elements are complex and diversified, floristic type are showing the typical temperate nature, especially North temperate zone is superior to numbers of speices in Qinghai province; East Asia and disjuction distributed and were also accounted for certain proportion, it has a transitional characteristics; (3)No endemic families, a few of endemic genera,but there are many endemic speices; (4) Many species are young and derivatives, also some species were originated in ancient Mediterranean.2. The geographical distribution characteristics of rare & endangered plants and national key protected plantsThe geographical distribution characteristic of rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants are all around the distribution in the Qinghai province (except Haixi prefecture).The highest species richness in Yushu prefecture, there are 73 accounting for 50% of the total species; The lowest species richness in Haixi prefecture,there are 26. 3. Rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants in the nature reserveThere have 11 nature reserves in Qinghai province, which of 5 national,6 provincial nature reserves. According to inspection reports of 5 national nature reserves and 6 provincial nature reserves. Nature reserves covered most of the cities and counties in Qinghai province, there were still 13 counties have not covered nature reserve. In nature reserve there are 129 rare and endangered plants and national key protected plants species, accounting for 88.36% of the total of the species. The reserves of rare and endangered species protection degree and kinds are quite different. There were have most rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants are Sanjiangyuan national nature reserve, Among them,The best administrative protection for rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants is also the Sanjiangyuan national nature reserve, respectively. Source area of Datong’s beichuan river nature reserves, Qinghai lake national nature reserve, Kekexili national nature reserve, Chaidamu Haloxylon ammodendron woods nature reserves, Xunhua Mengda national nature reserve, Qinghai Qilian mountains nature reserve, Qinghai Nuomuhong nature reserves, Keluke and Tuosu lake nature reserves, Above 8 nature reserves protected more rare & all endangered plants and national key protected plants. The Germu provincial nature reserve and Yushu longbao national nature reserve protected less rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants.4. Poor regions of rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants protectionSome regions of Qinghai province of rare and endangered species protection are weak, some areas where rare & endangered plants and national key protected plants were concentratly distribution have not nature reserve. North mountain of Huzhu county, Kanbula of Tongren county,Xigou and Songshan of Minhe county,Cangjiaxia forest of Ledou county, these areas were should consideration to construction planning nature reserve areas in the future.
