Abstract


China’s processing trade begun in the late of 1970s.In August, 1978,the first material process agreement was signed in Guangdong province, and the first processing trade corporation was established in Zhuhai, herefrom, China’s processing trade began its development. In the two decades, gradually our processing trade held important situation in the field of foreign trade. Now processing trade has held 50 percent of foreign trade market and become important part of import&export, using foreign capital and opening. However, the development of processing trade had many problems, from the beginning ,it isn’t uniform for understanding of its function and situation, and many problems are existed. For example, increment level of processing trade is low in China, only processing fees are paid, and processing trade supplies possibility for smuggle, in addition, processing trade crush common trades. In general, contributions of processing trade for opening and economic development are confirmed fully through practices.Through theories, data analysis and questionnaire and investigation(manuscript seen appendix), this paper investigates 200 processing trade corporations located in Guangzhou Economy&Technology Development District and Dongguan, based on statistic data, by analysis of result of questionnaire and investigation,discusses characteristics of processing trade comprehensively, mainly include: 1 n area pattern characteristics of processing trade development; 2^ industry conditions characteristics of processing trade development; 3> market structure characteristics of processing trade development; 4> characteristics of processing trade development approaches; 5^ structure commodity characteristics of processing trade development; 6 ^ main body structure characteristics of processing trade development; 7> manufacture ability characteristics of processing trade development. On this base, problems existed on processing trade development are discussed and researched, mainly include: K issues on industry upgrade; 2> issues on prolong domestic value chain of processing trade; 3 > issues on processing trade surplus; 4^ issues on processing trade policies; 5^ issues on processing trade supervision model. Meanwhile, aim at above problems, countermeasures and suggestions are proposed.
