Abstract


Originally, mobile phones are personal tools for communication, which leads to wide application in use. With progress in science and technology, they bear different social features from original meanings, and private message can easily be made public known. They occupy key position. In view of philosophy, linguistics, the culturology and pictography, this paper studies functions of mobile phone acting on both traditional and contemporary media, such as newspapers, cartoons, movies, game and televisions in society, and illustrates their potential power as news media in the interests of the national stability & security strategy both at home & abroad; with a view that the separation of personal free use from the accuracy and the privacy from the publicity, are two basic laws that govern the development of the media and their study is meaningful for national stability and for national security strategy by means of making full use of the analysis on social characteristics and improving international images of China in the long run. The author believes that the new mobile phones media can be operated in the interests of the country, and people can benefit a lot from the functions of new audio-visual multi-media, and the research into compatibility of traditional media to contemporary media, which is worth probing into.
