Abstract


Along with the urban industrial structure by secondary industry to tertiary industry , the decline of the traditional industrial bases rely on water for their livelihood , the Urban Waterfront District, a large number of industrial buildings are abandoned , idle, many traditional industrial districts in trouble , facing dismantled fate . Not only resulted in a waste of resources and energy , and also restricted the orderly development of the city . Although industrial buildings are not as historical heritage buildings as a lofty historical and cultural preservation value , but as part of the urban cell is a special language of the city , which records the history of the development of the urban industrial civilization , and our lives are closely related to the important part. From the 1920s to the present , the waterfront the old areas development practice in Europe and the United States has had a more successful example of these successful practice thus forming a systematic re - development theory , by contrast , China in this aspects of the research is to try and exploratory stage . It is in this context that the subject to article aims to explore how to understand the decline of the industrial building remains Waterfront lot , how to transform the use and re- design a series of questions . Held attitude of respect for the history and culture of the Protection of Industrial fading waterfront industry transformation design of the building remains Lot , advocates a combination of conservation and reuse the road of sustainable development , so that the urban waterfront with local characteristics and the spirit of place zone industrial building lot once again get a life .
