The purpose of this study is to discuss self-error correction English writing. This article discusses three issues: (1) self-error correction for high school students English writing whether it is beneficial? (2) Self-Correction on high school students' English writing? (3) self-error correction and teachers to modify what kind of more effective method to modify the high school students English composition? research-based information processing theory and the theory of learner-centered learning. According to the information processing theory, and language learning in the process of language input, attention and self-awareness plays a very important role (Skehan, 1998). Learner-centered learning theory, Tarone and Yule (2000) and Nunan (2001) suggested to first understand the basic needs of second language learners, and then try to meet those needs. Nunan also advocates the center of teaching students and the learning process rather than teachers and textbooks. The Nunan encourage learners to develop self-learning ability. The study from March 2005 to June twenty-seventh middle school in Lanzhou City, a 16-week experimental study is based on. Tested for high grade two parallel classes, one class was randomly selected for the experimental class, another class compared to control classes, each class size of 60 students. Weekly two classes of students to write an essay in English during the experiment. Experiment, the students training in the use of self-Correction modify modify the composition, control class students' compositions continue to use the teacher marked changes. Experimental classes and control classes of students have participated in the three English writing test (pre-test and post-test) and at the end of the experiment, fill out the survey of the composition to modify the method. The results show that: (1) self-error correction is beneficial to the high school students' English writing. Self-Correction can not only help high school students made significant achievements in the English writing, but also can help students improve their English writing skills. (2) Self-Correction significant positive effect on high school students' English writing skills. Making the self-error correction process, the students' English writing and English learning purpose more clearly, more positive attitude toward learning English, more responsible in their own language output. (3) secondary school students in English composition are modified when both like self-Correction teacher marking or guidance, because they are complementary. However, errors of grammar and vocabulary in the modified high school students' English writing, self Correction better than teachers modify the effect, therefore, they are more willing to self-error correction. In short, the process of English writing self-Correction is beneficial to the high school students, it is to improve students' English writing ability has a significant positive role, and modify the errors of grammar and vocabulary in English composition, self-error correction than Teachers marking more effective. Therefore, in the high school teaching of English writing, should play an active role in self-error correction to improve students' English writing skills.
