Abstract


Objective: A Comparative Study of OCM approach modified Hardinge approach total hip arthroplasty clinical effect. Methods: January 2005 to February 2008 , the same two groups in total hip arthroplasty 65 cases , including 30 cases using the the OCM approach for minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty using a modified Hardinge approach 35 cases , respectively. average (50.9 ± 10.1) months follow-up , the surgery by the same group of physicians completed , follow-up clinical assessment including a week after surgery , 1 , 3 , and 6 months , and postoperative year harris hip function score and Barthel index ; Radiology assess the position of the prosthesis , acetabular abduction angle to record the occurrence of complications , and statistical analysis . Results : OCM approach incision length , the amount of intraoperative and postoperative bleeding , postoperative transfusion number of cases , after bed time and 24 - hour pain score decreased significantly . After 3 months of follow-up the OCM approach for minimally invasive total hip replacement patients harris score and Barthel index were higher than the modified Hardinge approach (50.9 ± 10.1) months and the mean postoperative follow-up there is no significant difference . Conclusion : OCM approach and modified Hardinge approach can satisfaction for total hip arthroplasty , but the the OCM approach for minimally invasive total hip replacement within the first three months after surgery to restore better .
