Abstract


The media information is conventionally published via the VGA video transmission technology. With the rapid progress of Internet technology,the network bandwidth has been able to meet the demand of propagating generic media. A new media publishing system that is based on Web is presented here.Problems on how to design and implement the system are discussed in detail in this thesis. Designed with a multi-storey structure and a B/S framework, the intelligent system could display different content in multiple screens on the basis of LAN or WAN. Via systematic analysis, it is divided into modules of login server, media information management, emergency preparedness management, terminals management, publication management, banner management, administrator, system management, terminal display and control, etc.. Each module’s function and problems on how to design and implement it are covered here: In the multi-storey structure, what is the function of the business logic layer and how to design and implement it? How to design and implement the general data access logic layer? In the terminal display module, how to achieve a real-time Web-based event notification via Ajax? In the terminal control module, how to design and implement remote control through Webpage based on C/S and B/S. Insightful solutions to these problems are presented in the thesis.
