Overall sense of self-worth (global self-worth) refers to individual self-evaluation of the overall and the resulting emotional experience, it is a core component of self. Harter and her colleagues have done a lot of research on the sense of self-worth, the relationship between adolescents overall sense of self-worth to the formation of the reasons, causes and reasons for, and the results of the model. The model indicates the capacity in important areas (including facial appearance, interpersonal attraction, athletic ability) capacity in important areas (academic ability and behavior) through the influence of parents through to influence peer support thereby affecting the overall sense of self-worth; support thereby affecting the overall sense of self-worth. Why the model can be used to explain the relationship between peer support and overall sense of self-worth, but can not explain some young people (such as students ignored) the overall sense of self-worth has not been peer support. Not yet see about peer support research on the impact of the overall sense of self-worth, the study attempts to reveal the peer support, the relationship between self-construction and overall sense of self-worth, and the theoretical model of the test Harter and amending them and expand. This study used social measurements and self-report method to explore the relationship between adolescents overall sense of self-worth and peer support, self-construction, includes a total of four studies: Support Questionnaire A study of adolescent self-esteem scale and companion explore adolescent peer support, perceived peer support and the overall relationship between the sense of self-worth; research peer support questionnaire A Peer Support Questionnaire B and adolescent self-esteem scale, explore the peer support the importance of evaluation whether to play a regulatory role in the Harter model; self-constructed scale study with three Singelis adapted questionnaire and peer support B, to explore the relationship between the importance of peer support, evaluation and self-constructed; study four peer nomination peer support questionnaire C, the regulatory role of evaluation in adolescent self-esteem scale, to verify the importance of peer support Harter model. The main result of this study include: 1) youth perceived popularity is the intermediary between the variables in the the companion evaluation method measured the actual popularity and overall sense of self-worth, and the actual popularity by affecting the perceived popular in turn affect the overall degree of sense of self-worth; 2) the importance of peer support evaluation in between adolescent popularity and perceived popularity play a regulatory role; 3) the importance of the evaluation of the peer support and youth interdependence the self exists between a significant positive correlation; 4) peer nomination method measured the actual preference which can not be predicted by the general sense of self-worth, but perceived peer support on three indicators (like welcome and appreciate) can better to predict adolescents' overall sense of self-worth.
