Abstract


This thesis, based on the study of the characteristics and its special formation system of the credit risk in Chinese banks by integrating the economic system of China, evaluates and analyzes the current problems and management mode of the credit risk in Chinese commercial banks. Meanwhile, the thesis applies both the foreign and domestic researches, absorbs series of foreign credit risk management theories, and combines a great deal of data and practical material to provide thoughts and measures how to complete the credit risk management of Chinese commercial banks.There are four parts in the thesis:Part Ⅰ discusses the credit risk management theories, including the definition, characteristics and its influence to the current economics. This part also summarizes and evaluates the foreign and domestic researches.Part Ⅱ analyzes the unique credit risk characteristics of Chinese commercial banks, such as high bad debt rate, over centralized loan structure, lack of financing channel, low capital reserve, and so on. As for the special formation system of bank credit risk, it also study the causations from outside and inside of the banking operations and management.Part Ⅲ studies the Chinese banks’ current credit risk management. To use Bank of China as an example, we could conclude that basic management mode has been set up but big gap still exists when compared with foreign modern banks.Part Ⅳ focuses on the field of micro banking management, integrating with the status quo of Chinese commercial banks, and then explores the applicability of various risk management instruments and brings forward the suggestions of completing management systems by taking the modern credit risk theory as a clue.
