Abstract

The technology of positioning and navigation with satellites has introduced to our country for many years, but people did not pay more attention on receiver test till now. In the test work, specification for check off and test of GPS receiver of surveying model which was promulgated in 1995, is still used. With the development of satellite positioning and navigation, the old can not meet the demand of test work.GNSS receiver test include many issues. The main researches of this thesis include of clock quality, noise and multipath, which are important for internal performance of GNSS receiver. The main distributions of this thesis are as following.1. In the book of specification for check off and test of GPS receiver of surveying model, receivers’ frequency stability is checked by data quality, which is indirect test way. This thesis checks receiver frequency stability by calculating receiver clock error through different ways, and then calculates clock velocity and clock acceleration. In the way of calculating clock velocity and clock acceleration, the residuals included in clock error due to other errors are eliminated. Clock velocity and clock acceleration can indicate receivers’ frequency stability.2. Testing receiver’s internal noise from zero baseline tests is recognized by many people. The traditional way of analyzing noise is processing baseline. This thesis directly calculates residuals of code (pseudorange) and (carrier) phase observations both on L1 and L2 frequency. The residuals represent the measurements noise and they show biases and anomalies when present.3. Zero baseline test can get the receivers’ internal noise. This thesis uses "one receiver method" to give an expression of the receiver’s system noise performances. In this way, residuals was calculated directly from observations. The other common error sources, like multipath, atmosphere, satellite orbits and clocks are eliminated, but noise can not be eliminated. The residuals can give an expression of different channels’ and different observations’ noise characteristics. The residuals represent not only the noise due to receiver’s electric element but also represent the noise due to cable, antenna atmosphere and so on. This noise can be called system noise.4. This thesis combines code and phrase observations to estimate multipath, Which estimate the standard deviation of C1 and P2 code observations that can express the receiver’s capability to restrain multipath error.
