Abstract


After the failing of the Reform Movement of 1898 in late Qing dynasty, Liang Qi-chao fled to Yokohama, where he established the first overseas Party paper of the Reform group, China Discussion.This newspaper boasts significant historical value.The thesis gives careful analysis to this newspaper, including five chapters :The first chapter indicates the backgrounds of this newspaper.The second chapter points out the propaganda contents of the newspaper and shows that the purposes of the newspaper are discussing the state affairs and developing the nationals’ talents.The third chapter puts the emphasis on the editing and managing characteristics of the newspaper, then cites the four standards by which we judge the quality of the newspaper.The forth chapter illustrates the nature of this newspaper is Party newspaper of the capitalist class, and it has played an important role in the foundation of the modern national country.The last chapter shows the influence and historical position of this newspaper.
