Abstract


With the evolution of market economy and the acceleration of global economic integrity, those enterprises and regions of our nation have been facing with tremendous competitive pressure from home and abroad during the period of our nation’s implementation of reform and opening-up. Under this kind of complicated environment, new types of industrial organizations and regional developing patterns (industrial clusters) which are oriented to promote the regional economy’s growth have been spring up nationwide one after another, such as the electronic industrial clusters in Zhongguangun, Peking, the industrial clusters of weaving industry and machinery manufacturing industry in Shanghai, the industrial clusters of necktie industry in Wenzhou, Chekiang, the industrial clusters of chinaware industry in Foshan, Guangdong etc. The development of these industrial clusterss has boosted the prosperity of regional innovation and regional competitive capability, which also has provided amounts of avail experiences and inspirations for other domestic districts. The paper has illustrated the connotations, qualities and characteristics of the industrial clusters as well as its reasons of formation and effects of operation, then the paper has summarized the relating mechanism of industrial clusters and regional economic development, so as to offer several countermeasures and suggestions on the bases of current situations and problems of our nation’s industrial clusters’ development.The paper is composed of introduction and text. The introduction has illustrated the paper’s theme and its selecting background, which has indicated the practical significance of our nation’s development in the procedure of economic globalization and marketization, then it has reviewed and ranked those relevant research achievements and literatures. Finally, the introduction has summed up the major content and bright points of the research in general.Five chapters have been included in the text. The first chapter has summarized the research literatures of industrial clusters from home and abroad, then it has donesome summaries and explanations on industrial clusters’ connotations, qualities and characters as well as the economic academic foundations of clusters’ phenomenon, finally it has summed up the reasons of clusters’ formation and the effects of operation. The second chapter has demonstrated the relating mechanism of industrial clusters and regional economic development on the point of the regional effects of industrial clusters, the regional innovations promoted by industrial clusters and the improvement of regional competitive capability. The third and fourth chapters have analyzed the current situations and problems of industrial clusters, and then, several countermeasures and suggestions have been raised oriented to the development of industrial clusters. The fifth chapter is the part of demonstration analysis, which has primarily made some textual researches on the developing situations of industrial clusters and economic performance in Taizhou, Chekiang, and then it has summarized several conclusions and inspirations of the development of Taizhou’s industrial clusters.
