Abstract


Software maintenance is the last phase of software life cycle, and it is a necessary phase any software will experience. An great coding master has said that:" Even if the software contents only 3 lines code, you would have to maintain it some time or other. " Such an simple software need maintenance, furthermore the much more complicated software. And the large cost of software maintenance makes us pay more attention on it. FXOMS(Foreign Exchange Order Management System) an foreign exchange management system in use which is developed and used by State street company. This is a typical maintenance project. As FXOMS is a very valuable application system, some new features are added in continuously. So the workload of FXOMS maintenance is very large.At first, this paper introduces some basic knowledge about software maintenance, and describes some maintenance technology, and then introduces FXOMS simply. Then introduces how to maintain the application and analyzes the framework and main modules of FXOMS. Then analyzes the maintainability of FXOMS, and describes the maintenance technology used in FXOMS. And then analyzes the course of maintaining FXOMS. At last analyzes some problems on maintaining FXOMS, and gives some solution.
