Abstract

Atherosclerotic disease showed a high oxidative stress status, oxidative stress induced by reactive oxygen species (reactiveoxygen species, ROS) play an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerotic disease. Atherosclerosis formation and development of the pathological process, reactive oxygen species, oxidative modification of low-density lipoprotein, and promote the formation of foam cells, and reactive oxygen species-mediated lipid peroxidation can also damage the vascular endothelial cells, leading to its dysfunction, which promote the occurrence of atherosclerosis development. From early in the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease hair fatty streak to plaque lesion development, endothelial dysfunction has a very important significance. Vascular endothelial cell dysfunction is an early pathological changes of atherosclerosis, lipid peroxidation may be part of the initiating endothelial dysfunction. Therefore, antioxidants prevent oxidative stress injury artery atherosclerosis prevention and treatment of the disease is of positive significance. A large number of epidemiological data show that lycopene intake and risk of coronary heart disease was negatively correlated with low plasma lycopene higher acute myocardial infarction and stroke risk. However, the specific mechanisms for the prevention and treatment of these diseases is unclear. Lycopene is a good anti-oxidant, may be formed of one of lycopene atherosclerosis pathway by blocking or inhibiting oxidative stress injury. We are trying to explore the role and mechanism of its anti-atherosclerosis atherosclerotic disease through animal experiments and cell experiments. Objective To observe the impact of the first part of the lycopene formation of atherosclerosis in rabbits lycopene New Zealand rabbits artery atherosclerosis formation and lipid oxidative damage induced by high-fat feeding. High fat feeding model, 30 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: control group, model group and lycopene group were given normal diet and high fat diet, the lycopene group plus lycopene (per rabbit per day per kilogram of body weight given 6% lycopene powder 60mg); 1 day, before the start of the experiment, after the start of the weekend 2,4,6,8 Fasting blood serum total cholesterol, triglycerides high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, serum superoxide dismutase activity, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, serum nitric oxide and oxygen
