When studying the value of technology, I find out the alienation phenomenon of technology. In view of the phenomenon, this paper emphatically analyses the main causes of alienation, and illustrates the solutions to maximization of the value of technology.Studying technology in a historical and systematical way, I come to a conclusion that technology is a whole system of activity and ability, and technology is characteristics of productive force in essence. In this sense, technology must be loaded by value, and it includes not only the internal value, but also the external value. However, because of alienation of technology, its value has not been maximized as expected. The development of technology has caused many negative effects such as the damage to the natural environment, humans’ alienation and the unbalanced development of society. Three main causes which have led to alienation of technology have been discussed in this paper.In order to realize the purpose of maximization of the value of technology, man should overcome his own selfish desire and make full use of rationality. On (the) one hand, we should improve and perfect technology to raise its positive value; on the other hand, we should reduce and control the negative effects of technology to minimize its negative value. Only in this way can man maximize the overall value of technology.
