Abstract


As culture industry is becoming a new economic growth spot, all destinations is relocating themseves.As tourists is looking for brand-new experience when they are traveling, those tourist destinations are making full advantage of their artistic value. Art festival is a way with efficiency, scale, quality and participation.On one hand, art festival provide large quantity of stadium, facility and people.On the other hand, it rebuild the image of a city and become a city PR event.This article gives the definition of art festival.Then it gives its characteristics and varieties. After that,it conclude the main trend of art festival,namely,comprehensive,popular,brand-focused and specialized.This article believes that art festival mainly exerts 3 impacts on tourist destinations.Those are social impact, economic impact and cultural impact.Social impact includes the public perception of the city space.Economic impacts includes lengthening the life cycle of city destination,promoting the cultural and art facilities and mutiplizing the tourist consumption pattern.Cultural impacts include strengthening local consciousness and promoting destination prestige.etc.Last but not least, the article gives several suggestions and advices in art festival planning, organizing and finacing, etc.
