Abstract


Dai Wang (1837-1873), styled Zigao, was born in Deqing, Zhejiang Province, enjoyed a year only 37 years old. Dai Wang died young and had no progeny again, and the historical materials about him extremely was lack, so it was very weak about Dai Wang’s study by the academic circles. Because of this, I undertake to do the difficult job that draw the outline of Dai Wang as best I can. I try to unscramble Dai Wang by "sympathize with of comprehension", and realize the spirit of the age by means of understanding Dai Wang.The thesis consists of introduction and five chapters.Introduction: To introduce in a detail way of the significance on selecting the topic, the related research retrospection at home.Chapter Ⅰ: Dai Wang’s life experience. In order to understand Dai Wang’s learning thoughts, this chapter mainly combs Dai Wang’s life experience. Dai Wang’s experience was rough, even though under this condition, Dai Wang didn’t give up his pursuit of knowledge all the time. Thus he acquired his achievements and affected the later.Chapter Ⅱ A glance of Dai Wang’s academic style. The scholars always think that Dai Wang belonged to the Jin classical school, so overlook his Han Xue academic style of seeking truth from facts. This chapter mainly combs Dai Wang’ s academic style, and I think that Dai Wang had studied both Han Xue and Song Xue, and he didn’t belong to a certain school. Meanwhile this chapter also involves that Dai Wang inherited Dai Zhen’s thoughts about mind and nature.Chapter Ⅲ Dai Wang studied the Zhuzi-ology, including Mozi and Guanzi. Dai Wang’s study on them embodied his academic style of being realistic. Especially his study of Mozi affected Sun Yirang greatly.Chapter Ⅳ The annotation of the Analects showed Dai Wang’s thoughts that saved the society by learning thoughts. Because the society was unstable, Dai Wang accepted the grossly absurd
