Abstract


The domestic and foreign economy environment of our country has changed deeply, since the beginning of the national new policy of reform and open-door: the market mechanism is setting up and perfecting progressively, the degree of reform and opening is deepened day by day, and the economic status of our country in the world is promoting gradually. With the fast development of economy, our country is becoming one of the biggest manufacturing countries of the world progressively, and some scholars propose that China is becoming “world factory”following Great Britain, Germany and Japan. So to probe the law of development and change of our country’s manufacturing, to make clear the industrial structure of the manufacturing under the new situation, to sum the law and the character of manufacturing in urban spatial distribution and to put forward some constructive suggestions, have certain realistic meanings to the deep development of manufacturing industry. Urban development of our country has accelerated in 2000s.Based on the theory of the economic development and urban spatial distribution and the review of the megacity development trends of the world, the author deeply study the relation of the urban development of manufacturing and the spatial distribution. Through the study of Wuhan, the author suggests the influences of the manufacturing’s spatial distribution to the development of city and the impacts of urban spatial distribution on the development of manufacturing industry. Wuhan has an unheard-of favorable opportunity and challenge since the strategy of developing the middle of our country start in 2003. Wuhan comprehensive Plan(1996─2020)clearly lags with the development of city. The author participate in the bid of the Amendment and Compilation of Research Thematic of Wuhan comprehensive Plan in 2005 under tutor guide, and have already won the bid of the research of the development of industrialization and the location of manufacturing spatial of Wuhan. Now this research thematic finished. Based on this, the author suggest the common characteristics of megacity of our country, the relation of the urban development of manufacturing and the spatial distribution, and offer a few ideas for other city’s regulation of the development of manufacturing and the urban spatial distribution.
