Abstract

Lattice Boltzmann method is a new method developed in the mid-eighties a simulation of fluid flow . Compared with traditional calculation method , the LB method has a simple algorithm , easy programming , pressure can directly solve the equation of state , to be able to simulate the complex boundary of the flow field , etc. , and computing locality to make it in parallel computing has a great advantage . Despite fluid simulation and modeling has made important progress in recent years in the application of lattice Boltzmann equation , the lattice Boltzmann method , there are still a lot of issues need to be addressed , such as discrete equilibrium distribution function and the distribution function of the non-negative , low Mach number limitations. This paper systematically studied the lattice Boltzmann method in open channel flow , improve an existing LB models , numerical experiments show that this improvement is effective ; equilibrium distribution function and the distribution function of non - negative the authors propose a lattice Boltzmann model , based on unit balancing by direct discretization of the Maxwell distribution function to achieve a non - negative discrete velocity distribution function , this method two steps of the traditional model of the evolution of the collision and transport directly performance for particle transport . And this model usually particles only in the adjacent cubicle exchange extended to more cubicle exchange to improve the stability of the LB method for the numerical simulation of open channel flow ; discrete speed in the LB method is usually to only a finite number of given value , can only be limited to low Mach number flow simulation method based on the finite volume of the Boltzmann equation KFVS breakthrough in the limit of low Mach number , be able to simulate the rapids of the density of the wet and dry at the junction of the particle velocity distribution re combination , establish a treatment of wet and dry at the junction of the moving boundary method to simulate the water downstream dam break wave , numerical experiments show that the distribution function of this structure combination in the treatment of the moving boundary problem . The above three models were used to simulate the one-dimensional dam break and a dry riverbed downstream dam break problem , numerical results show that the method is feasible and effective .
