Abstract


Modern landscape designers in Japan drew on abundant of artisticelements and design skills from the Japanese traditional garden, takinginto the inspiration of the era, evolving the new Japanese landscape. Itis presented the diversified trend of the design skill in Japanese modernlandscape. The modern Japanese designers explain the tradition and pursuethe new shape meaning from the angle of the contemporary, and they triesto design the new landscape from the modern angle. Based on the design skillsof Japanese traditional garden design, the designer combined the westernmodern landscape design skills, and developed the modern Japanese landscapeto a new stage from the art, technique, ecosystem...etc. This paperintroduced primarily the prevalent ideas and the represent designer ofJapanese modern landscape design, and described their creative skills withthe introduction of their works. According to these, we find out thedevelopment of the modern Japanese landscape, and also use these methodson our own landscape design.
