Abstract


With rapid development of communication technology and network technology, enterprise collects, transfers, manages information in more ways, and the efficiency requirements are increasing. The traditional way of sending and receiving fax has been unable to meet the requirements of enterprise informationization. Integrating the fax system demands of a national enterprises information center, and referring to the modern enterprise fax system requirements, this paper designs and develops a fax server system to surport enterprise application.At first, this paper introduces the history and applications of the fax technology and technologies associated with the implementation of fax server system, then the system architecture is designed based on the demands of fax server system, and then respectively makes detailed descriptions of the design and implementation of several major components of three layers of the fax server system.The three layers include the device control layer, the business logic layer and the interface layer. The device control layer is responsible for controling the hardware, and making calls to users and sending or receiving fax documents. The business logic layer is responsible for getting the request, handling different requests, filling the fax template, transferring the text file to TIFF file, and communicating with the device control layer to complete sending or receiving fax. At this level, this system uses JACOB technology and JAVAMail API to achieve the template functions and e-mail fax, respectively. The interface layer is responsible for interacting with the user, such as submitting a fax request, receiving fax, and uploading or downloading the documents. At this layer, the system uses the Web Service technology to provide the interfaces for integration of enterprise OA system.Finally, the implemented fax server system has been evaluated. Verified by the analysis and evaluation to the performance results, the system can meet the business requirement of the enterprise.
