Since the reorganization of China Telecom in 2002, China Telecom experienced serious decrease on fixed-line voice subscribers, as increasing the revenue of Internet business, especially the broadband access has been great concerned.After several years of cultivation and development, VPDN technology is becoming mature. Meanwhile, with the increasing of government-enterprise customer’s information level, which increasingly dependent on the network, the demand of remote access to corporate intranets becoming more urgent. Compared with traditional telecom services, VPDN service is flexible, fast, safe, convenient, improving the company’s working efficiency, saving costs, so VPDN is more and more recognized by companies.Virtual Private dial-up network VPDN is based on the user’s virtual private dial-up networks, using the IP network carrying capacity, L2TP tunneling technology, RADIUS protocol, for enterprises to establish in the public network authentication, authorization and billing integration, virtual private network, ultimately efficient and safe access to their internal network.Based on the studying of RADIUS protocol and three kind of tunneling technology (PPTP, L2F, L2TP), I joined in the design and practice for community application system based on VPDN for a digital community, mainly responsible for the configuration and testing of VPDN radius and client router.Through VPDN technology, ADSL dial-up customers to use branches from Ningxia Telecom BAS access to the VPDN Radius completed authentication and authorization, BAS and user router to create the private tunnel, to visit the headquarters of the purpose of the network. Authentication, authorization and accounting by the Ningxia Telecom VPDN authentication and accounting system was completed, the user only pay monthly fee. User-run since March 2010,3 months use of the results show that the business use of stable and functional.This paper is divided into five parts, the first section describes the background of topics and subjects of the proposed details, the second section describes the key technologies of VPDN service, including RADIUS protocol, three kind of tunneling technology, the third section describes the overall design based on user needs, focuses on VPDN authentication and accounting system and the use of the tunneling technology, the fourth section introduces the system configuration, testing, results, and application.
