Abstract

By the end of 2006, China has canceled all of the foreign bank’s ownership, the right to operate the establishment of forms of restrictions, including ownership restrictions to allow foreign banks to provide RMB business services to Chinese customers. Foreign banks full access to China will inevitably challenge the formation of China’s banking industry and the enormous pressure, and the financial economy, especially China’s commercial banks in China have significant and far-reaching impact. Therefore, the study foreign bank entry on the impact of China’s commercial banks, and on this basis of countermeasures, to CommercialBank of China’s development strategy and the formulation of national monetary policy to provide basis for decision making, have important theoretical and practical significance.Foreign banks into the advantages and disadvantages of the host country. China’s actual situation on the one hand, foreign banks entering the domestic commercial banks to help promote institutional reforms, improve the commercial bank management level, speed up China’s financial innovation is conducive to China’s commercial banks, international development. On the other hand, compared with Chinese banks, foreign banks is much more abundant in the operation and management, asset quality, human resources and capacity for innovation and so an absolute advantage. The entry of foreign banks to domestic commercial banks in China face more severe challenges and tremendous pressure.This use of technology in data envelopment DEA model of super-efficiency of 12 domestic furniture representative to measure the efficiency of commercial banks, comparative study of efficiency changes before and after accession to the WTO. The results show that the entry of foreign banks improves the efficiency of commercial banks in China, but increased marginally, the impact is not very significant. Through the measurement model, an insight into the foreign bank entry on the profitability of Chinese commercial banks, operating cost efficiency implications, In the analysis, I divided the sample into four banks and other joint-stock commercial banks, commercial banks, and respectively The banks and all samples investigated, empirical results show that foreign bank entry increases the profitability of domestic banks, increased operating costs. Also, because of other joint-stock commercial banks relative to the four major commercial banks, flexible, affordable small, innovative ability, and foreign bank entry brings overflow demonstration effect in other joint-stock commercial banks who have better reflected.Accordingly, this paper deal with foreign banks to enter the relevant measures. To improve the competitiveness of the domestic commercial banking sector, first of all the reform of domestic commercial banks, domestic banks to create a fair and orderly competition, increase the domestic banking sector innovation, while strengthening the cooperation between Chinese and foreign banks.
