Abstract
|
Cardiac intervention is an effective cure method for coronary artery disease. Because the operation is minimally invasive, and it needs the operator to use his hands and eyes conceitedly, training is needed to insure the success of the operation. It is very meaningful to develop a virtual system for cardiac intervention. In this paper, we put the emphases on the construction of cardiac vascular model. Researchers used to reconstruct models from contour lines of blood vessel slices. It is known that the method is limited by source of slices and difficulties of image registration. Consequently, a new method is proposed. Using techniques of surface styling, differential geometry, and computational geometry, we present to you a new method to construct model of cardiac vascular on the base of analysis of geometric character of blood vessels on the heart. Images and video resources are referenced, and the some limitations of the former method are avoided.Firstly, we introduce the theory of surface styling, the definition of geometric continuity and method to construct continuous patches. Then, we make a detailed analysis of geometric character of cardiac vascular through images and videos from hospital. Thirdly, we construct a few surface models of cardiac vascular based on NURBS surface. During this step, we design a new algorithm of surface styling according to the characteristic of cardiac vascular, and the surface patching method is improved. We also design a computational model to simulate the deformation of the geometric models, including heartbeat simulation and pathological vascular deformation. Fourthly, we show the result of our models, and use them in the virtual surgery system. Finally, evaluation of these methods is given, and further works is expected.
