The causes and impact of China's service industry to attract FDI level is low

Abstract


Today is the time of "Service Economy". By the process of "intangible globalization", FDI all over the world is towards to the service industry. As a large developing country, Chinese FDI in services inward is very inefficient. Chinese FDI in services is lower compared with the level of the developed countries absorbed, and moreover, it is lower than the level of Chinese FDI in manufacturing industry. So we must research on the problem of Chinese FDI in services inward. Through the analysis on the foreign documents and the domestic literatures, we find that the foreign documents are very rich but few in domestic. We use the "OLI" theory and the "gravity model" to analysis the reasons on Chinese FDI in services such as why the service-industry absorbing FDI’s level is inefficient, why the districts are asymmetric, why the distributions exist such large distance, why the investment home-country are so few, why they inflow as the enterprise individual, and so on. The conclusions indicate that the service-industry itself developed in lower level, the factor productivity in service-industry is lower, the opening degree is not enough, the district economy is not similar, the distributions have their own advantages, and so on. All the reasons barrier the development on FDI in service inflowing to China. And they have considerable negative impact to the increase an the development in economy. So how to bound the positive effects and reduce or remove the negative effects on the FDI inflowing to China in services is faced to us. The paper give some advises through the results based on the theoretic and empirical analysis, i.e. improving the level of per capita, accelerating the development of the human capital, and the government should establish all be propitious to the inflow of FDI in services.
