Abstract


With the coming of the information era in recent years, the income of traditional service which supports the development of the Post Office is continually falling. This is an unprecedented challenge for Gansu Post. Therefore, Gansu Post is facing a practical problem ofhow to go forward with the age in new situations and to achieve the continuous development of the post office. At the beginning of 2008, Gansu Post began to engage in modern logistics industry. This is the beginning of participating in market competition on its own initiative and extending its operation into new fields by making full use of its own advantages of network since the independent operation of Gansu Post. This also manifests the determination and the confidence of Gansu Post in attempting to participate in market competition and achieve self development with a new image and business location. However, the most pressing matter of the moment for Gansu Post in developing modern logistics industry is how to occupy a position in the increasingly severe competition of logistics industry, how to formulate self developmental strategies combining with reality, and how to give play to its own advantages to increase its competitive ability.Taking the guiding ideology of keeping core competitive power and enhancing the strength of Gansu Post, this thesis first introduces the basic situations and current services of Gansu Post. Secondly, by using the analytical approach of SWOT and in the light of the present economic development situation of Gansu and the characters of the industry, the thesis makes a deep analysis of the inner and outer circumstances, opportunities and threat Gansu Post logistics is facing. It also puts forward a development strategic scheme of Gansu Post logistics and determines the developmental strategies of the corporation according to QSPM.Finally, based on the set strategies, the thesis gives specific implementing plans and standards of strategic judgment.
