Abstract

Background and Objective : Gastric carcinoma is a common digestive malignant tumor, which threatening the human health. While the mechanism of its occurrence is not clarified. It is of piratical importance to study gastric carcinoma’s occurrence and development in order to make early diagnosis and decide treatment method to improve QOL of the patients. The normal function of a gene depends on its normal fabric. Cells are usually influenced by the environment, so DNA are easy to be injured. In order to maintain the genomic stability, cells must have effective repair systems. If any of them is deficient, the gene’s injury could not be repaired and the mutations would accumulate in the genome. The genome become more unstable and as a result, proto-oncogenes were activated and cancer suppressor were inactivated. In this study we detected the protein expressions of mismatch repair gene hMSH2 base excision repair gene XRCC1. Cancer suppressor gene p53 and call proliferation associated gene PCNA in gastric carcinoma, adjacent and distant gastric mucosa to analyze the role of their abnormal expressions in gastric carcinogenesis.Material and method: Gastric carcinoma with clear pathological diagnosis from 33 patients were collected. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the protein expression of hMSH2, XRCC1, P53, PCNA in carcinomas(carcinoma group), adjacent mucosa(adjacent group) and distant mucosa(distant group). SPSS 13.0 statistic software was used to analyze the correlation of their abnormal expressions to gastric carcinoma. Results: In carcinoma group, adjacent group, and distant group, the expression of hMSH2 were 33.33%(11/33), 6.06%(2/33), and 12.12%(4/33).There was significant difference between the carcinoma
