Abstract


With the rapid improvement of net bandwidth, computer process ability and storage capacity, with the appearance of the all kinds of video information process technology, the video monitoring system has gone into a digital net age in recent years. With the fast development in microelectronics, telecommunications, and computer technology, traditional monitoring methods cannot meet the increasing requirements of the market any more. Because Linux system is steady, fast and lowcost, more and more people take Linux as the server’s chief operation system. Thus, we studied and developed the realization of network video monitoring system in Linux system.In this thesis, we mainly designed a digital video monitoring system by using internet or LAN, which has steady property and strong process ability. For frontend system besides it has widely used net interface and reliable local storage capacity, we hope that it has certain intelligent process ability. Just because these reasons, we put forward a scheme which is based on PC structure and Linux operation system. We can effectively use all kinds of present computer technologies so as to incr-easethe function of process capacity of front-end by adopting PC structure; using Linux as the operation
