Abstract


During the important economic times that economic globalization and regional economic integration developing with each other, global economy is affected by the financial tsunami. Many countries and regions are actively exploring new and more effective economic development approach. Therefore, regional economic integration set off a new wave of development once again.The subject of regional economic integration is urban agglomeration or economic circle, which account for a large proportion at the national or regional economic output (GDP) and have a greater impact to the whole economy. Many scholars internal and abroad have made a great deal about the study and practice of urban agglomeration, for example:French scholar Jean Gottmann in 1957 proposed a "metropolitan economic circle" concept; both the three metropolitan economic zone New York, Los Angeles,Chicago in the United States and Japan’s metropolitan economic zone Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya are have been developed nearly 50 years, now has become an important part and a driving force of the world’s economic development. China’s Yangtze River Delta economic circle, Wuhan urban agglomeration, Changsha city group provides a good experience for other areas in regional economic integration.In the backdrop of the regional development trends in global economy, yunnan wants to improve its own capacity for development and economic competitiveness. So we proposed Dianzhong urban agglomeration. Dianzhong arer including Kunming, Qujing, Yuxi, the most region of Chuxiong and some northern counties of Red River, whith in the central and east areas in Yunnan Province.And the overall planning for urban agglomeration in Central Yunnan region is let Kunming as the core, connect QUJING Qilin District whith at the northeast 130 kilometers away, Yuxi Hongta whith at the south 86 kilometers away, Chuxiong City whith at the west 160 kilometers away with highway. Thus constitutes a Dianzhong Urban Economic ring as the backbone of the framework. The outlying regions of Dianzhong urban agglomeration is include Gejiu,Kaiyuan,Mengzi in Honghe canton and Dali city in Dali canton.Research on the economic integration of Dianzhong urban agglomeration, first through the SWOT analysis to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges on promote economic integration of the urban agglomeration. We concluded that the most significant advantage is that natural resource endowment and spatial location. The most prominent disadvantage is the industrial structure of four Cities are isomorphism, and inter-regional co-operation between enterprises are still many obstacles so that competitive industries with low concentration. Second, with in so many opportunities and challenges, we need both empirical analysis and theoretical support to effectively promote the economic integration of the four cities of Central Yunnan. In support of Gradient theory, radiation theory and the support of growth pole theory in regional economic, we can targeted propose the focus of developmen in economic integration of Dianzhong urban agglomeration, combine with the conclusions whith come from the SWOT analysis. Respectively from planning, infrastructure, resource utilization, key industries, employment and the market six areas, to promote the integration step by step. Finally, according to provincial and municipal development plan, make an initial division of the integration process.
