Abstract


Ecofeminism, a product of the marriage between Western social environment movement and feminism movement, believes that to control nature correlates to control females. It expounds the close relation between controlling nature and controlling females so it rejects all kinds of suppression and domination. Ecofeminism finds out that a mechanism - Patriarchy, governs the practice of both controlling nature and controlling females. After 30 years’ development, Ecofeminism now exerts great influence on Western feminism and environmental ethics.I intend in this thesis to elucidate the development process of Ecofeminism and discuss the viewpoints on nature of different schools in order to analyze the main characters of this new perspective of environmental ethics and reveal its main inherence. This significance of this thesis is to remind people of cherishing the value of feminism and changing the traditional view of the world to relieve the severe ecological crisis and set up a harmonious development view.Ecofeminism provides a new perspective for solving ecological crisis and emancipating females. Though, theoretically, there are some defects in Ecofeminism, the theory itself bears profound theoretical and realistic value.
