Abstract


Nowadays, the society runs at full speed with the economy develops rapidly, which highlights the importance of consumption more and more. Consumption is the ultimate impetus of domestic demand growth and the hub of sustainable development. Consuming behavior and market demand lead both the orientation and scale of investment, consumption is production directly and no consumption, no production. That is to say, consumption has identity with production and it can lead production, thus becoming the ultimate impetus of economic operation. It is also the“display screen”to show the economic operational efficiency and allocation of resources. It is to be forwarded that consumption is born to be counteractive to production, that is, consumption can either promote or impede production development. Therefore, reasonable consumption and consumption concept can promote economy growth as well as social development, while alienated consumption and adverse consumption concept will impede social development.Alienated consumption is the kind of consumption concept which goes against the development of Human, Society and Environment. It brings humanism crisis, accelerates human intergenerational differentiation, brings the inequality between people, produces the conflict between material consumption and mental consumption, and makes people wilder the meaning of life; while at the same time, it causes social crisis, expands the poor-rich gap, and brings false democracy to hoodwink the public; meanwhile, it causes ecologist crisis, worsens the ecological environment, makes resources unsustainable, and brings the inequality on ecological issues between developed countries and developing countries; What’s more, it also causes economic crisis.How to go out of alienated consumption and overcome the shortcoming of alienated consumption?This is the question the essay will answer. Consumption development is top priority to make the society develop in a healthy way. Reasonable consumption and moderate consumption seems especially important to social development, becoming the best weapon to cope with economic crisis, real estate bubbles and an important guarantee of stimulating domestic demand. Reasonable consumption is in conformity with the scientific concept of development and sustainable development.
