Abstract


The information asymmetry between owners and contractors in the construction industry is the reason why engineering consulting industry produces. Engineering consulting industry supplies the product of project management mode, whose evolutionary process reflects the development of engineering consulting industry. This paper analyzes engineering consulting industry development though the research on evolutionary process of project management mode.By taking engineering consulting industry as the research object, this paper gives project management mode development process analysis of engineering consulting industry, which is in line with the characteristic of self-organization. Based on this, the paper derives the direction of project management mode development of China’s engineering consulting industry from self-organization theory. Synergetic development of construction industry means synergetic development of engineering consulting industry, which is an internal sub-system of construction industry. Synergetic development of construction industry is realized by the synergy between owners and contractors, so the paper analyzes synergetic development of engineering consulting industry though evolutionary games between owners and contractors. The conditions of synergy are obtained, with relevant analysis the measures to realize synergy of project management mode of engineering consulting industry are also obtained. Then by demonstrating the evolutionary process of project management mode of engineering consulting industry with catastrophe theory, the paper got conditions of its catastrophe. In the end, with the analysis of these two kinds of theoretical results, it predicts the direction of project management mode of engineering consulting industry, and gives suggestions about its self-organization realization.
