Abstract


Land suitability evaluation is the appraisal of the suitability and its extent of land for a certain purpose, it is the basis for land-use decision-making and using direction, it is also the main content of the land resources research in the near past 20 years. Potential land suitability evaluation is one part of land resources appraisal, Through comprehensive studies on natural factors, which may cast influence on the quality of the potential arable land resource, and economic-social factors such as the way of land-use, it divides The Arable Land Reserve Resources into several levels according to the evaluation system, with the purpose of readjusting and optimizing land-using structure and providing basis for establishing land-development planning.The arable land reserve resources are major supplementary source of cultivated land. And it plays an important role in the dynamic balance of the total cultivated land amount. The results of study on survey and evaluation of arable land reserve resources could provide scientific basis for deciding a policy on national land comprehensive utilization and the dynamic balance regulation of total cultivated land amount.Centered on the evaluation of land suitability, combing the GIS technology and the evaluation method, this thesis carries on the innovative design and study in theories, methods and techniques.In this paper, general analysis of the arable Land Reserve Resources investigation and assessment of the theoretical framework. That the sustainable development theory, theory of the relationship between people and land, land scarcity, and other principles constitute the reserve of Arable Land Reserve Resources investigation and assessment of the theoretical basis. On this basis, the thesis focuses on theroy, principle, basis, methods and architectonic of The Arable Land Reserve Resources investigation, analyzes the connotation, significance, assessment principle, process and methods. Under the guidance of the theoretical basis, the author took Yaoan County, Yunnan Province as an example and conducted empirical study.The thesis is using the model and GIS to conduct Arable Land Reserve Resources suitability evaluation in the study area. As for a specific land utilization type, the land utilization requirements should be analyzed to determine the selection of land evaluation factor of and build the indices system. Moreover, MAPGIS technologies and mathematical models have been applied to the study area in Arable Land Reserve Resources suitability evaluation to assess whether and how the land is suitable for a specific land utilization type. Consequently, the quantitative and spatial distribution of Arable Land Reserve Resources suitability has been obtained.Finally, the paper also proposed the possible application orientation for the evaluation of land potential resources, mainly for providing basis for land development planning and services of land development project.
