With the rapid development and widespread use of network technology, computer networks has infiltrated all areas of socio-economic, it plays an increasingly important role in socio-economic development. The scope of the network is increasing, and the network structure is becoming more complex. These factors have greatly increased the difficulties of network security operations and daily management. Network managers urgently needed a practical NMS to help them in the performance of real-time network control, monitoring network failures, network performance analysis to maintain the normal operation of the network.Nowadays because of increasingly complex network structure and multi-vendor network equipment, network management must be made to comply with certain standards of the network to ensure normal work and compatibility between equipments. On this basis, various ISO standards have been promulgated, the more famous standards are OSI standards and SNMP standards. SNMP because of its simple practicality, easy to achieve, in fact it has become a network management standards in the area, and has been widely supported by equipment manufacturers. And the Web-based of NMS has become an important trend its development. The introduced network operation monitoring system uses SNMP standards for the management of network equipment, and integrates of an embedded Web server to implement the network management system Web-based. Aim at a traditional NMS’ s difficult operation, not practical, poor compatibility, the system provides visual, business-oriented, user-friendly, integrated network management platform, achieving interactive networks topology browsing, network operation monitoring and real-time alerting failures, equipment panels real-time observation of the state assets management. In the level of the system, it can be divided into network devices monitoring layer, storage layer and the operational processing layer. It uses the components model, thus shortens the development cycle and enhances system’s flexibility, which can be expanded.
