Objective : To study extraction, purification of polysaccharides Sargassum(SP) and explore the systemic effects of SP on NIH mice with S180, H22 tumor. Objectively evaluate the antitumor effect of SP in the overall level and study the antitumor effect and function, provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of tumor. Methods: ① The SP was pretreat the Sargassum with ultrasonic, purificating by DEAE-cellulosecolume, dialysing, and drying. ② evaluate the in vitro effects on the antitumor of SP by MTT method. ③ Established S180, H22 tumor bearing mice entity model, treated by gavage with different dose of SP, mensurated the inhibition rates, thymus and spleen index ,IgA、 IgM、 IgG, T lymphocytes and WBC, study the in vivo effects and function on the antitumor. ④ Established H22 tumor bearing ascites mice model, treated by gavage with different dose of SP, mensurated the average survival time and prolonging life rate. Results: ① The SP have a definite in vitro antitumor effects, the highest inhibition rates is 18.86%、 25.0% respectively on S180, H22 as the Cy.
