Chinese medicine treatment of type 2 diabetes early lipotoxicity and insulin -like growth factor-1 impact clinical research

Abstract


Objective: To observe the influence of Traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） which can eliminating heat by nourishing yin and activate blood with removing stasis on lipotoxicity and IGF-1 in the early stage of type 2 diabetes mellitus （2-DM） .Methods: A randomized, doubled-blind and placebo controlled trial was conducted. The test group and the control group are in the ratio of 1 to 1. One hundred and eight patients were admitted in the test,one hundred and three patients were finished after six months and eighty-seven patients were finished after eighteen months.The whole course of treatment is eighteen months with subsequent visit every month. The main indexes include clinic symptoms, FBG, 2hPBG, BP HbA1c, TC, TG, FFA,IGF-1,FINSandISI.Safety indexes include routine urine, blood and stool test, ECG, the function of live and kidney and harmful reaction.Results:（1）The test group have the statistical difference compared with the control group after therapy of PBG,no difference of FBG、 HbA1C; （2）The test group have the statistical difference compared with the control group about declined indexes of TC; （3）FFA has statistical difference compared with the themselves in former and behind of the test group; （4）Two groups have the statistical difference after tweleve months and eighteen months of IGF-1, when TG> 1.7mmol/l the test group have the statistical difference compared with the control group; （5）There are no statistical difference in the safety indexes.Conclusion: （1）The blood suger of two groups reach to the aim level （2）Liuweidihuang soft capsule and Ginkgo biloca leave preparation can regulate the blood lipid metabolism. reduce TC （3）Liuweidihuang soft capsule and Ginkgo biloca leave preparation can reduce lipotoxicity （4）IGF-1 has the relationship with TG and liuweidihuang soft capsule and Ginkgo biloca leave can promote IGF-1 to compose and release when the blood lipid is uncontrol（5）Two groups are safe and have no side-effect.
