Abstract

Oxidation reaction is one of the most important reactions in organic syntheses. As oxidizing agent in reactions, hydrogen peroxide has advantages of being economical and environmental-protecting, according with the concept of“Green Chemistry”, however, one of the important fields of study is the exploitation and employ of catalysts. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted a great deal of attention owing to their special nano-structures, remarkable electrical and chemical properties, are widely used in the fields of composites, hydrogen-storage and field emission, etc. Their application in catalysis is one of the hot fields in the recent studying of carbon materials. 8-hydroxyquinoline-based metal complex is a kind of significant illuminant material, but few studying was on their performance as catalysts. Therefore, studying the catalytic properties of carbon nanotubes, 8-hydroxyquinoline-based metal complex and their composites is of significant meaning for researching and exploiting new catalysts and their callback, developing the applications of 8-hydroxyquinoline-based metal complex. The goals of the thesis is to synthesize different 8-hydroxyquinoline-based metal complex and try to load them on the surface of carbon nanotubes, study the catalytic properties of carbon nanotubes, 8-hydroxyquinoline-based metal complex and their composites, and accumulate data for exploiting new type catalysts and developing their applications.1. The carboxyl functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNT-COOH ) were used to catalyze the oxidation reaction of aniline and p-chloride aniline with hydrogen peroxide. The reaction process was monitored by UV-Vis spectroscopy and HPLC. The product was qualitatively analyzed by GC-MS. The results indicated that both of aniline and p-chloride aniline oxidize-coupled under the catalysis of carboxyl functionalized carbon nanotubes, the substitutional group of absorb electrons reduced the activity of reaction.
