Abstract

Transesterification biodiesel synthesis process , the alcohol - oil mixture was two-phase and not miscible , the reaction rate is slow , and by the addition of an inert co-solvent oil / methanol system can be homogeneous , and significantly increase the reaction rate and promote the improvement of the reaction yield . In this paper, the waste frying oil as the research object , through the the homogeneous transesterification synthesis of biodiesel , and process transformation mechanism and kinetics were studied . The use of refined rapeseed oil, soybean oil and waste frying oil , and tetrahydrofuran and diethyl ether at atmospheric 20 ℃ solubility experiment, drawn a ternary phase diagram of the oil / methanol / ether . On this basis , the oil fatty acid composition, the content of free fatty acid , alcohol - oil ratio and temperature of the system is required on the formation of the oil / methanol / ether homogeneous system to study the effects of the total amount of solvent added , the results show that the short chain fatty acid content increases the increase in free fatty acid content and the temperature of the system increases are beneficial to reduce the dosage required co-solvent to form a homogeneous system . In this paper, the synthesis process for biodiesel synthesis yield , the results show that the co-solvent tetrahydrofuran , make alcohol oil two mutually dissolved contribute to the acceleration of the reaction rate . The main factors affecting the homogeneous transesterification synthesis process the alcohol -oil ratio, the amount of catalyst added , and the reaction temperature and reaction time . The best conditions for using orthogonal regression design optimization based on single factor experiments to determine the homogeneous synthesis process as follows: reaction temperature of 64 ° C , 3.95% of the amount of catalyst H2SO4 , the reaction time of 3.3 hours , esterification production under this condition rate up to 98.1% . for 55.83kJ/mol. Heterogeneous reaction under the same conditions macroscopic reaction rate equation : d [TG] / dt =-K1α / (1 ζ1Rv) [TG]. The low solubility of alcohol oil two-phase heterogeneous esterification reaction rate is slow .
