This article studies the based on digital image processing diamond cut identification system based on CCD camera, walking motor and the computer's hardware structure and detailed study of the diamond cut identification of new image processing algorithms, including diamond cut image segmentation , contour extraction and feature point identification and eigenvalue calculation. Firstly the background and diamond cut identification and evaluation of technical problem in the domestic and international research profile of a brief introduction and review and analysis of diamond cut evaluation criteria. On this basis, the problems to be studied, the main research content and technology roadmap. The image acquisition is the basis of the system. In accordance with the requirements of the diamond cut identification system hardware selection, based on digital image processing technology diamond cut identification system hardware structure, working principle and system functions. Digital image processing technology is the core of the system, including image enhancement, image segmentation, feature extraction of several parts. By reviewing digital image processing technology development and the recognition of diamond cut existing digital image processing technology, analysis and comparison of the characteristics of these methods and the problems to be solved. Based on analysis of more traditional diamond cut effect of image enhancement and deficiencies at the background and objectives of the threshold segmentation method segmentation. The diamond image contour extraction in order to obtain the specific feature point information is still required. Through the design of these algorithms, application of this method to create the software structure of the system, and the system is given of the processing flow. The test results show that the proposed method can effectively identify the image of diamonds collected, and to prove the feasibility of the system in terms of theory and error analysis.
