Abstract

In recent years, with the continual growth of China’s inbound tourists, people have put forward higher requirements for the oral communication ability of English-speaking guides. For students majoring in tourism in secondary vocational schools, they need to take English as a basic course and also a specialized one. English-speaking guides are usually required to have the basic communication skills in oral English, and talk about the famous historic and cultural sites, local conditions and customs of our country, after mastering necessary professional skills of tourism. That’s to say, it is necessary to highlight the improvement of students’communicative competence of English in Tourism English class. However, the teaching effect of Tourism English is not so good, because of students’poor English basic skills, poor abilities of studying, limited learning time at school, too difficult textbooks and so on. Therefore, there is significance in practice on this study.Dialogue Teaching is a method based on the equality between teacher and students, and a way communicated and expressed by talking or listening. When properly guided by teacher, students can communicate with teacher effectively by using Dialogue.
