Abstract

WC/High-chromium steel surface composites research work has been relatively good development in recent years, anti-heat, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistance are widely developed and utilized. However, in the field of metallurgical machinery, materials need to withstand the wear and tear, not in the general working conditions, but to quench the thermal shock condition to withstand considerable wear and tear.As the WC/High-chromium steel surface composites layer of the substrate and the composite physical properties between the thermal mismatch problem, so the thermal shock performance of poor, limiting its metallurgical machinery and other fields in the popularization and application of.In this paper, the problem of the WC/High-chromium steel surface composites thermal physical properties and thermal shock performance preparation process and the relationships between the focus from the thermal crack initiation and propagation mechanism are to proceed with analysis. In this paper, V-EPC and its improved quartz ceramic were prepared by casting penetration device the size of the different composite layers of high chromium steel-based surface composites, ceramic particles and matrix metallurgical bonding composite layer thickness than large and relatively homogeneous, the transition compound effective. This preparation was measured at different parameters of the surface composite coefficient of thermal expansion, thermal conductivity and other thermophysical properties of materials, while on the surface of composite materials of the thermal shock test, and quantitative measurement of the thermal shock generated from the thermal cracking length, through the analysis and research data, the results show that: with WC grain size became coarser, the material gradient of CTE increased, resulting in decreased thermal shock resistance of materials; nickel powder, tungsten alloy powder added to enhance the organization combined effect, however, against the thermal shock resistance of nickel powder not so much in tungsten iron on the thermal conductivity increased with help, but can also improve the material’s thermal shock resistance. Therefore, in order to improve the WC/High-chromium steel surface composites thermal shock resistance, should reduce the CTE of material gradient and increase the thermal conductivity of materials prepared to proceed to improve the process parameters.
