Abstract


With the development of the semiconductor manufacturing process , EDA tools , and VLSI design technologies , more and more high- speed integrated circuits , are becoming more integrated . This trend has led to the power / ground network (P / G network ), the voltage drop ( IR -drop ) . Excessive voltage drop will lead to fluctuations in the power supply voltage reduce the noise margin , logic gate delays increase the switching speed is reduced, resulting in logic errors even logic function failure . General-purpose circuit simulation tool is impossible due to the magnitude of the P / G network network to complete the analysis of the P / G network IR-drop . Therefore, the study of the P / G network has become a major concern in the international community . Based on the random walk algorithm and P / G network conductance matrix characteristics , random walk algorithm used an improved VLSI P / G network transient IR-drop analysis . First of all, the entire P / G network is divided into three parts : solving area , near the area , and near the area . Repeat divided wire mesh, wire mesh until solved . Secondly , transient analysis using accelerated methods , walk only on the first point in time , other time point reuse first walk record . The experimental results show that the accuracy is high , the calculation of the algorithm , the calculation speed is far superior to the conventional random walk algorithm , CG ( Conjugate Gradient ) method and ICCG ( Incomplete Cholesky decomposition conjugate gradient ) Act .
