Abstract


Writing the readers awareness and the importance to keep in touch with readers has been widely recognized . However , the vast majority of research has focused on the consciousness of readers in the readers consciousness writing performance . In order to fill the gaps in research , this paper aims to explore the awareness of the overall situation of Chinese English learners in English Writing readers focus on student attitudes and understanding for the reader conscious awareness of the status quo of their readers , the readers awareness of students' writing , students writing the purpose of the reader , as well as student readers awareness . In this paper, the open-ended questionnaires , interviews, writing text , supplemented by sound thinking approach to explore these research questions . 105 English majors from a comprehensive university participated in the study , four of them took part in the study of sound thinking . All students complete two questionnaires , and a writing task . After that, the four students completed the have sound thinking part . The study analyzed the students ' responses to the questionnaire , and sound thinking record , and Hyland (2005b) study intervention system based on analysis of all text . The research results show that the majority of students recognize that readers awareness of the importance of and the need for related training but not exactly the same , but the feeling and the actual performance of the students the awareness of the reader . Although the students' writing presents a different audience in mind , but most of the students are still the teacher as the target audience . In addition, students in writing using intervention characteristics , but the reader awareness mainly in the form of such a structure , sentence structure , vocabulary levels . This article concludes : readers awareness of effective writing is very important , and Chinese students , however , do not have a strong sense of readers , nor can the right way to achieve readers awareness . The article that readers awareness training is to strengthen the awareness of the student readers , teachers should develop long-term plans , and effective way to enhance the awareness of student readers . The article concludes with a discussion of the limitations of the study and discuss in depth the necessity .
