Family Notodontidae is not only one of the important pest categories in agriculture and forestry of Henan province, but also one of the insect categories with lots of species, great biomass and outstanding ecological significance. In the past three years, 2000 specimens which I have collected from Taihang, Xiong’er, Funiu, Tongbai, Dabie mountainous area and that the collection of insect laboratory was indentified, the result that 9 subfamilies, 60 genera and 110 species are recorded, accounting for 21.31% of the specie number of this family in China, and 3.14% of the global number. Among those, 1 new subspecies is described, and 1 subfamily, 18 genera and 53 species are first recorded in Henan.The Notodontidae database of China and Henan are established according to lots of distributing data of Notodontidae. Through the analysis of fauna elements and distribution pattern, the character of Notodontidae in Henan is that, the dominated element is East Asian, and Oriental is transformed Palaearctic form north to south in Henan, and fauna composition is connection with every animal geographical region in China, the whole relationship reach significant level.The method of multivariate similarity clustering analysis is used for the first time to discuss the fauna similarity between Henan province and other province of China. The result is that the area which composed by Henan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Gansu and Jiangsu province is in the boundary of Oriental and Palaearctic. And it provide new scientific foundation for insect geographical division of China.The particular specie is analyzed by parsimony analysis of endemism(PAE). It shows the center of origin, evolution and distribution of particular specie of Notodontidae is an area which include the province of Shaanxi, Henan, Gansu, Hubei, Sichuan, Tibet and Yunnan. In this area, a subarea is composed by Henan, Shaanxi and Gansu province which has Qinling mountain as its common landform character should be the key area for origin and distribution of insect after Himalayas and Hengduan mountain.The methods of key fauna analysis is also used to discuss the lowest combination of the prior area for Notodontidae protection in Henan, it shows he prior area for Notodontidae protection is Funiu mountainous area.
