Abstract


Based on the model of injured Pheochromocytoma derived cell line（PC12 cells）byβ-amyloid,we investigated the correlation between Aβand Alzheimer’s disease,and the protective mechanism in Alzheimer’s disease with the treatment of Decotion of Rehamanniae （DR） at cell and molecular level,which employed the technique of biochemistry and molecular biology.The results showed: 1、The injury of PC12 cells induced by Aβ25-35 could make lots of free radicals, and evidently reduce the activity of antioxidant enzyme CAT and GSH-PX. 2、DR can increase the activity of antioxidant enzyme CAT and GSH-PX in PC12 cells culture medium . It can improve the clearance of free radicals and reduce the injury to PC12 cells. 3、DR can controll effectively the excessive response of Immediate-Early-Gene c-fos and c-jun whenβ-amyloid PC12 cells,and increase the stress response of PC12 cells to exoteric harmful stimulation.The high dose and the moderate dose groups showed effect activity .
