Abstract


English prepositions are among the most typical one ambiguous parts of speech . Most prepositions to express complex spatial relationships between these spaces can use a different mental image schema representation . Many scholars believe that cognitive linguistics , but they differ in close contact with each other preposition meaning through metaphor and other forms of cognitive extension preposition polysemy networks. Every sense is not affected context independent meaning, so different form the dictionary entries. However , we believe that the spatial preposition meaning is not ambiguous . We use dynamic knowledge solution (DCA) on prepositions study results show that in a different context, the meaning of the preposition itself has not changed . Prepositions in different verb - preposition - noun (VPN) structure different meanings in different contexts is given real-time , online significance should be distinguished from independent significance . In this thesis, the structure of the VPN preposition meaning. Due to limited space , does not include all of the preposition , but the use of high frequency selected some representative preposition . Preposition its meaning in different VPN configuration remains unchanged . The nature of nouns and verbs had an impact on the preposition , to produce a variety of online meaning preposition itself is not ambiguous .
